ONE STEP AWAY FROM GLORY

Having knocked out cup holders Home United FC, Warriors FC Prime League team will take on current NFL Division 1 league leaders Yishun Sentek Mariners in the Singapore Pools FA Cup final.

The path to the final was nothing short of easy. The team had to beat Singapore Khalsa Association on penalties in the first round, before seeing off Police Sports Association in the next. In both the quarter-final and semi-final matches, the team had to twice recover from a 1-2 deficit to eventually win their opponents 3-2.

The final is not going to be an easy game as we are coming up against an opponent with players who have prior experience playing in the S.League. Nonetheless, I have confidence in my players and know that they will give a hundred percent and show why they deserve to be in the final.

Prime League Coach Efendi Rahmat said, “in the semi-final, we won Home United FC who have just been crowned Prime League champions. To win the cup, we have to be able to beat the best teams. It requires a lot of hard work, dedication and sacrifice from the players.”He added, “the final is not going to be an easy game as we are coming up against an opponent with players who have prior experience playing in the S.League. Nonetheless, I have confidence in my players and know that they will give a hundred percent and show why they deserve to be in the final.”

Having last won this competition in 2008, our Prime League team will be looking to repeat this feat and end the season with the Cup. The match will be played at Jalan Besar Stadium on Sunday, 29 October 2017 and entry is free. Kick-off is at 8.00pm.
